Cake Topper

I will be creating a custom/DIY cake topper for us...
As we are a bit of a "unique"/rock-n-roll couple, I want to create something that really represents "us"!

Since we met in our band, I decided instead of a traditional "human" bride & groom cake topper, I'm going to use a microphone (as I sing) and a bass (as he plays upright bass) to represent us!

Images of original pieces, and progress below.

Updated progress!
The bass and microphone aren't "attached" to the base yet - but this is them placed.
May add a few more touches, but don't want to over-do it (as I realize it's large and fairly flashy already).

DONE!
In a twist that kind of makes me crazy, the lid that the bass & microphone are attached to sits slightly crooked, which makes the microphone stand look WAY crooked (particularly in this picture) - but I'm just going to roll with it.
Overall - very pleased with the results.

Picture Frames

Picture
These will be used throughout the reception venue to share specific information with our guests (wedding party, guest book info, beverage/bar info, etc).
Cheap frames from Michaels, one quick mist of satin black paint, lots of Tacky Glue and purple glitter!  Once the glue is completely dry, I'll be putting down a light layer of clear coat to hopefully minimize glitter-shedding.

All but one of the finished (and filled) photo frames!
-1: welcome and wedding party names
-1: memorial
-2: beverage information
-1: "no food or drink" for DJ table (per her request)
-1: photo guest book instructions (not pictured - not made yet)

Candles

Picture
Like many venues, our reception venue doesn't allow open flames/candles, thus we will be required to use the LED "candles" for that effect.  As I don't really like the look of the base of the LED candles, we wanted to camouflage them, and what better way than MORE GLITTER!  Used painter's tape, tacky glue and purple glitter (with a light spray of clear coat to hopefully prevent excessive glitter shedding).
They are the same color glitter as the above frames, but the sun made the color difficult to see here.

(scored the votive holders 16 for $4.99 at Michaels)

Card Box

Picture
Oh, yes - to pay homage to our love of guns (and my military life) we are using an ammo can for our card box. We have one just like this (50 cal) and will be painting it black and cutting a slit in the top. The side will have stenciled text (much like the original) only in white and will say 'CARDS' and our names and some other little cute things.

Picture
DONE!
So, "stenciling" on the actual text was turning into a disaster, so i had to download a new font, and print onto cardstock which I affixed to the box.  The slit is right behind the top label ("Cards, Paper Assets").
I know the text seems a bit odd - but it's all written in "military" style.
We are very happy with it!

Flamingo Flair

Picture
I have 6 of these - plus a lot of glue & glitter. Yes, we will be glittering my yard flamingos! They will be used to add some fun & flair to the back patio at La Grange (and possibly one or two in the planter out front).
The intent is to pay homage to The Flamingo (where our ceremony takes place) at the reception.

Two - almost complete - flamingos below.

Welcome Bags

For our wedding party and families joining us in Las Vegas I will be putting together "Welcome Bags" with little Las Vegas survival items and a map/itinerary.
